We’re seeking a Senior Backend engineer who is ready to work with new technologies and architectures in a forward-thinking organization that’s always pushing boundaries. Here, you will take complete, end-to-end ownership of projects across the entire stack. Our ideal candidate has experience building products across the stack and a firm understanding of web frameworks, APIs, databases, and various back-end languages. You’ll be joining a small team working at the forefront of new technology, solving the challenges that impact both the front-end and back-end architecture, and ultimately, delivering amazing global user experiences.
- Employ and ensure best practices and embrace the latest web technologies in developing and maintaining web and mobile product platforms.
- Implement object-oriented programming and web design principles and patterns to ensure that application renders well across multiple devices. Solve application performance, usability, and support issues.
- Efficient troubleshooting and able to articulate tradeoffs in technology choices and relate them to business needs;
- Have excellent communication skills and can explain complex technical problems in an accessible and compassionate way;

- Have a proven track record of mentorship
- Have 4+ years of experience writing and shipping backend code
- Must have development experience with Python.
- Should be comfortable spinning up, managing, monitoring, and reasoning about infrastructure on AWS or GCP
- Know your way around database systems, whether SQL, NoSQL, and can talk about how to pick one over the other;
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs
- Write performant, optimized, clean, legible, and testable code;
- Excellent debugging, optimization and troubleshooting skills
- Unit/integration testing experience
- Experience in participating code reviews and have the ability to provide constructive feedback.
- Experience working on early-stage startups and ability to talk to us about growing pains resulting from early technical decisions;
- Interest in learning new tools, languages, workflows, and philosophies to grow
- Experience with data science and/or machine learning;
- An interest or experience with healthcare and/or electronic health records
